Show up in the map pack across more of your service area

When a homeowner in your territory searches for what you do, Google shows three businesses on the map. We work to get you into those three in more of the towns you serve, and the monthly rank map shows exactly where you stand. We track the calls, forms and bookings it brings in.

The short version

What is local SEO for a home services company?

Local SEO is the work that gets your business into Google’s map results and local listings when people nearby search for your services. Google ranks local results mainly on three things: relevance, distance and prominence. For a home services company that means a complete Google Business Profile, a real page for every service and city you cover, consistent listings across directories, and a steady flow of recent reviews.

The rank map

Your office pin isn’t your service area

Google weighs distance, so most home services companies rank well within a mile or two of their address and fade out past it. That’s a problem when your crews cover a whole metro.

Every month we run a grid of searches across your service area and show you exactly where you rank, block by block. Then we work the gaps: city pages, reviews from jobs in those neighborhoods, and a profile that tells Google everywhere you work.

Month 6

71% of the area in the top 3 (14% in month 1)

Example rank map for one keyword. Your report uses your keywords and your service area.

What’s included

The work, month after month

  1. 01

    Google Business Profile

Categories, services, service areas, photos and posts kept complete and current. It’s the biggest single factor in the map pack.

  2. 02

    Service and city pages

A real page for each service in each city you want work in, written for the homeowners who live there.

  3. 03

    Reviews

A simple text ask after every finished job, and a response to every review, good or bad.

  4. 04

    Citations

Your name, address and phone number matching everywhere Google cross-checks, including Apple Maps, Bing, Yelp and Nextdoor.

  5. 05

    Monthly rank maps

A grid of searches across your service area, so you can see where you show up and where you don’t.

  6. 06

    Tracking to booked jobs

Every call, form and booking from search tagged by source, so you see which cities and services bring in the most work.

What we can track depends on your CRM, website and booking tools. If they fall short, we can help build what’s missing.

Why reviews carry so much weight

Homeowners read the reviews before they call

Google says review count and rating factor into local ranking. Homeowners weigh them too, and they care how recent they are.

  • 97%of consumers read reviews for local businesses
  • 74%look for reviews written in the last three months
  • 89%expect business owners to respond to reviews

  1. 01

    Audit

We check your profile, listings, reviews and site against the competitors who own your map pack today.

  2. 02

    Fix the foundation

Profile, categories, citations and tracking first. Nothing else works if Google can’t trust your basic information.

    Build

Service and city pages, review requests and profile updates, prioritized by the services you want to grow.

  4. 04

    Report

What we can track depends on your CRM, website and booking tools. If they fall short, we can help build what’s missing.

Questions we get

Local SEO FAQ

How long does local SEO take to work?

The map pack usually moves first. Organic rankings take months, then keep building. Chorbie reached #1 for lawn care in Frisco in three months, but every market is different, and we’ll tell you what we see in yours after the audit.

Do I need a page for every city I serve?

For the cities you want real work in, yes, as long as each page says something specific: the services you offer there, jobs you’ve done nearby, reviews from local customers. Copying one page and swapping the city name is what Google calls a doorway page, and it tends to hurt more than it helps.

What if my business doesn’t have a storefront?

Most home services companies don’t. Google lets service-area businesses hide their address and list the areas they serve instead. Your verified location still affects where you rank, which is why the monthly rank map matters: it shows how far your visibility actually reaches.

How do you get more reviews without being pushy?

Ask every customer right after the job is done, by text, with a direct link. Timing does most of the work. We set up the ask and the reminder, plus a review responder that replies to reviews on your behalf. We never filter who gets asked, because Google doesn’t allow it.

How do I know local SEO is working?

Rankings are a leading indicator. We track every call, form and booking from search by source, broken out by city and service, so you can see which parts of your service area bring in leads and which still need work.

Does local SEO help with ChatGPT and AI search?

Mostly through the same work. AI tools like ChatGPT and Google’s AI answers lean on the same signals as the map: a complete Google Business Profile, steady reviews, consistent listings and clear pages for each service and city. We build those, and visits from AI tools show up in your reporting as their own source. Nobody can promise a spot in an AI answer, so we don’t.

Should I run ads while SEO ramps up?

Often, yes. Ads carry the pipeline while SEO ramps up, and the search terms data from ads tells us which keywords are worth ranking for. Once you hold the rankings, you can pull spend back on the terms you already own.
